Free To A Good Home Puppies

Free Puppies To A Good Home

Do you know what happens to some pets that are posted in “Free To Good Home” ads? Too many times than not after the pet is adopted it is neglected, abandoned, abused, starved and sadly even sold for animal experimentation. Believe it or not this happens thousands of times per day!

People that place free to good homes ads for their pets do not realize the consequences of their innocent intent of finding a new home for their pet. They certainly are thinking that their pet will end up in good hands and have a better life but sadly so many times that is not the case. They are misguided and it could lead their pet into a tragic situation.

Even charging an adoption fee of $50 or more can deter the abusers because people tend not to value things that are free.  A free pet is a disposable pet.

What can you do to help you may ask? Contact the person that is placing the ad and educate them. Let them know that there are no kill shelters and rescues that are willing to take in their pet and find them a good home. Encourage them to charge an adoption fee. You can potentially be saving an animals life!

Fur Is Not Fashion

Fur Is Not Fashion

Hey Everyone!

I am sure alot of you are in to fashion trends, the latest styles, hottest shoes, handbags and designers. I know I have a tendency to get caught up in it. I did want to make everyone aware of some of the sad atrocities designers are doing to our helpless animals, all for the sake of fashion.

Did you know that Gucci sells boots made of seal fur. Gucci is responsible for the horrors of the Canadian seal hunt that have repeatedly been documented on video. Check out more on peta.org.

Burberry still sells fur.

Christian Lacroix directly funds people who skin, bludgeon, strangle, and electrocute animals for a living for their fur.

Valentino directly funds people who skin, bludgeon, strangle, and electrocute animals for a living for their fur.

Uggs are animal skin.

Alexander McQueen uses fox heads and bird skulls on his runway models.

The list can go on and on. Unfortunately because many people believe fashion is more important than the life of animals, these designers will continue to capitalize on the lives of them. Please read your labels, get to know your designers and their styles and don’t think that there are not trendy designers out there that do not use animals. Check out Stella McCartney, Juicy Couture, Prada (be cautious though), Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole and JCrew to name a few. I hope you can forsake fur for the sake of fashion.

You can also check out http://www.peta.org/living/clothingguide.asp for Peta’s cruelty free clothing guide.

Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!

Stop Animal Cruelty 1 Blog At A Time

I donate this post to all of the wonderful bloggers that have helped our mission of getting the word out about animal cruelty, animal rights and helping all animals worldwide, pets and strays includes.

There are many great bloggers that devote either their whole blog or a post or 2 to helping animals, and I’m sure that I have forgotten a few, so please just add a comment and I’ll make sure I include you. Some of the way people have helped is as simple as a high five, a blog comment or a quick note letting us know they appreciated us being here writing about animal cruelty and the little jokes we throw in to add a smile to your face. Don’t forget you can use the Share This button below each post to either send to a friend or bookmark on a social book mark sites like Digg, or Stumble etc.

First I want to thank the gang at the Bloggeries Blog Forum, without the support of Rob and his followers of pro bloggers and newbies alike I would not have gained the knowledge of blog design, plugins and the like. Our blog review from his site was one of the main things that was instrumental in getting the initial blog link juice flowing to help us get found for keywords like “Stop Animal Cruelty” and the like. The rest of the gang there like Paul and the Educator are always happy to help out a fellow blogger when they get stuck on something or to offer alternative opinions. Besides all that, Bloggeries is a great place for bloggers to hang out and learn new tricks to the trade with Wordpress.

Quirky Jessi was one of the first bloggers that was nice enough to introduce our animal cruelty blog to her hundreds of loyal readers just waiting to see what cute and quirky blog topic she was going to write about next. I’m glad she picked AnimalsNeedHelp.com!

One of the first people we met on Entrecard has her own blog about living healthy and keeping meat off the table was The Groovy Vegetarian she added us to her blogroll so people could find us easier.

INDogs has a dog blog with many good stories about the rescue and rehabilitation of mans best friend, INdogs by the way are one of the oldest dog breeds in the world.

Pet Rescue Central nominated us for the Excellent Pet Blog Award, thanks Pet Rescuer! keep up the great work spreading information on all animals including adoption and pet rescue.

Therapy Home has some good movies on animal cruelty on their site, I suggest you check out those and the ones on the PETA TV media center.

Another friend of ours in the crusade against cruelty is Catnip Corner and their blog about 3 cats.

Kay’s K9’s and her miniature pet creations blog even awarded us the “You Make My Day” award on her blog. Thanks Kay, your work on miniature wool pets astonishes us!

The Blog Reviewer gave us all thumbs up and helped us get some great backlinks at the same time.

There are many great individual blog articles out there to help remind us just how dear animals are to our heart, like this one from a Beauty Blog Fur, I’d rather be naked. or even from a Cleveland Real Estate Agent on why you should not buy a puppy mill puppy. Their whole blog is not devoted to animal rights but they take the time to support PETA and that’s very nice of them.

One of our best blog reviews was from the Writing Angel where she writes about all sorts  of fascinating topics and decided to do a whole post about Animals Need Help.  She also writes on The Never Ending Writing blog that I’ll be sure to keep my eye on.

Well, it is getting late and I can still think of dozens of other great blogs that I have ran across in the past. I realize now I should have started a drop list of those favorite blogs of mine that have helped make our job a little easier in spreading our love of animals and trying to keep them safe and living cruelty free.

If you are a blogger for animal cruelty please let us know…

Hi Everyone!

This posting may be a little more somber than our usual postings but if you are an animal lover you definitely need to know what’s happening.

Did you know there are hundreds of companies that still perform / fund animal testing and it is a needless necessity in this day and age? Please note,
per PETA’s website, just a few of that companies that we know and actually help support these tests by purchasing their products from these companies:

  1. Iams - yes believe it or not!
  2. Mars Candy (M&M’s, Snickers, etc.)
  3. Numerous Universities
  4. Phillip Morris - Cigarrettes
  5. Proctor & Gamble - Cover Girl, Clairol, Max Factor and much more
  6. Arm & Hammer
  7. Colgate Palmolive
  8. Dial
  9. Clorox
  10. Johnson & Johnson
  11. L’Oreal
  12. Sally Hansen

The list goes on and on and on…..

Please see the attached pdf for a complete list of companies that test on animals.

If you visit PETA you can learn more about animal testing and you can even sign petitions against these companies.

The best way to stop companies from using animals for testing is to refuse to purchase their products and to write and tell them why you won’t be applying their eye shadow, cleaning your clothes with their detergent, or washing your child’s hair with their shampoo. The power is in the hands of the consumer, you and I.

For more info on cruelty free living please visit: caringconsumer.com

Remember you can make a difference! Please be the voice of these helpless animals by not supporting companies that test and petitioning them to stop.

Thanks everyone!!
